Kathleen Cleaveland

Qualifications
Kathleen Cleaveland Graduated from Carroll College with a B.S. in Elementary Education with minors in Early Childhood  and Adaptive Education. Prior to joining St. Margaret Mary she worked as a student teacher in Wisconsin.

Teaching Philosophy
“Early Childhood chose me, and from my first day in the classroom, I have been absolutely in love with what I do. Typically, I am a child’s first school experience, and it is my job to help each child love to learn by making each new experience meaningful, but most importantly fun. In preschool, you never really know how the day will go; each day is a new adventure for both my students and myself. Preschoolers are amazing people who inspire me each and every day.”

Why I Teach at St. Margaret Mary School
“St. Margaret Mary has become my second home. It is the place that has given me the chance to grow as a teacher in so many ways. I love this school because it has a heartbeat that is felt not only in every corner of the building but also from the people within its community. The warmth and love that is given to each member of the community is hard to describe, but it is felt the moment you walk in the door.

My Interests Outside of the Classroom

“Outside of school, I love to spend time with friends and family.  I love going to the movies and playing board games with cousins.”

Teaching Philosophy
“I believe in respecting every child. Each child in my classroom will be treated with kindness and respect. I feel that learning has to be meaningful and interesting for the students in order for them to do their best. The activities in the classroom focus on a hands on approach.  The fun and interesting activities will challenge the students and meet their needs.  It is an amazing feeling when you see a child’s face light up when they learn something new?”Why I Teach at St. Margaret Mary School
“St. Margaret Mary School has so much to offer the community. We foster a sense of family. St. Margaret Mary has a diverse student body that is always willing to help one another. One of the most unique things about the school is that all of the students and staff know each other by name. We are a small school and are proud of it. If someone has a birthday, the entire school celebrates it. If someone is sick, the whole school prays on their behalf. That is what makes St. Margaret Mary a wonderful school to come to everyday!”My Interests Outside of the Classroom

“I like spending time with my family, my friends, and my cat Miller, exercising at the lake, reading, and taking vacations.”
