Teaching Philosophy

“I believe students learn best when there is a mutual understanding between teacher and student. To know where someone is coming from is the beginning of being able to take them anywhere.”

Why I Teach at St. Margaret Mary School
“I am blessed because I work in a place where everyone knows my name! I choose to work at St. Margaret Mary because my students come from homes where people work really hard for a living and raise children with values. Our faculty is the finest group of dedicated teachers I have ever worked with.

Being the middle school math teacher as well as the physical education instructor for the entire school, I touch the lives of all the children at St. Margaret Mary School. Every day is a unique experience!”

My Interests Outside of the Classroom

“Outside of school, I enjoy cooking and baking.  I also enjoy Fantasy football, baseball, NASCAR, golf, and hockey.”

Teaching Philosophy

“To be blessed with the ability to teach is an amazing gift.  As an educator, role model, and/or mentor, I have a chance to make a huge impact on the life of a child.  I get to be a part of seeing them succeed, helping them when they make mistakes, and encouraging them when a task seems impossible.  I am honored to play a small part in each of the students I encounter.”

Why I Teach at St. Margaret Mary.

“SMM is an amazing school with an amazing staff.  There is an energy that is contagious found in the staff as well as the students.  The children and their families are always willing to make you feel as if you are an extension of their family.  It is a blessing to be a part of this school.  For someone who’s family is in another state, I have felt so loved and supported at this school.”

My Interests Outside of the Classroom

“I am very involved in my Church.  I love to run and exercise.  I also enjoy spending time with friends and family.  I also love watching Ohio State football and basketball.  Go Bucks!!”

Teaching Philosophy

“Ever since I was a little girl, I have wanted to be a teacher. I really knew that teaching was for me in middle school when I had a number of great teachers and fantastic experiences. I also have always enjoyed helping others, especially my classmates in Math and English. I believe that there are so many new experiences, thoughts, and ideas that happen at the middle school age. It is a true adventure and challenge, and very exciting to teach this age group. I love having deep conversations and really digging into the text that we read and expressing our thoughts in the papers that we write. I also enjoy sharing the wisdom that I have with them about high school and college expectations that they will have to face and be prepared for soon enough. I believe that every person is a lifelong learner and has the capabilities to succeed and make a change in the world. I believe in hard work and managing the challenges and struggles that come with it. I believe in having compassion for others, helping others, and being happy.”

Why I Teach at St. Margaret Mary School
“I truly enjoy teaching at St. Margaret Mary and starting my first years of teaching here. From the moment I walked in the door, I have been welcomed warmly by staff, family, and students. This is a true community of love and learning, and I am so happy that I am a part of this family.”

My Interests Outside of the Classroom

“Outside of the classroom I enjoy being outdoors. Whether it is camping, biking, or hiking, put me in nature and I’m a happy camper! I also enjoy listening and seeing live music. Music is a part of life; that is why your heart beats. I also enjoy crafts and reading.”

Middle School Science, 8th grade homeroom
Cari Radziewicz

Qualifications

Cari Radziewicz is certified in Math and Science for grades 4-9 in Ohio and in all subjects for K-8  in Illinois.

Teaching Philosophy

“The goal of my teaching is active learning. One of my ultimate goals in teaching is to facilitate learning by helping students to gain the necessary skills to take control of and become active participants in their own learning. I believe that knowledge gained through active participation is knowledge that will stay with a student. Therefore, my approach to teaching reflects this philosophy and I have developed and use many techniques that are designed to engage students in their own learning.”

Why I Teach at St. Margaret Mary

“I originally chose to teach at St. Margaret Mary because I went to a Catholic School (St. Catherine Laboure) and had a great education there. I like the teaching style and freedom in the classroom that you can have at a Catholic school. I have stayed at SMM because I love all of the kids and the tight-knit community that the school has. It feels like a big family here.”

My Interests Outside of the Classroom

“Outside of school I enjoy doing activities outside such as running, hiking, and playing and watching sports. I also like hanging out with my family and going to visit different places.”
